Challenge

Techleap.nl, previously known as Start-Up Delta is a non-profit publicly funded organisation helping to quantify and accelerate the technology ecosystem of the Netherlands. We were tasked with developing a new strategy, branding, and digital platform to coincide with the launch of an ambitious program to nurture business and innovation in the Dutch technology sector. The challenge was to help them transition into a progressive new organisation and leader within the tech space.

Think big, be bold, and scale at speed

After helping articulate their brand message we built a modular and scalable design system. The logo is crafted from a geometric binary typeface to express the connection points of the thriving Dutch tech ecosystem. We extended this thinking to the whole brand system. Building a suite of clean geometric elements, clicking together with ease to embody the new brand strategy.

The new design system allows us to bring to life concepts of acceleration, transformation, networks and growth. Helping amplify the message that Techleap.nl is a beacon for its community, to think big, be bold and take risks.

A modular build for complete control

With the brand language created, we then set out to bring the new spirit of Techleap.nl to life with the new website. The site also mirrors the flexible design system. All built around a set of configurable content modules that can be built in the CMS to build engaging pages with ease. We conducted qualitative research to understand the experiences and requirements of the target audience. From these insights, we worked collaboratively with the Techleap.nl communications team to create a content strategy that would articulate the organisation's purpose and deliver information that would be meaningful to their target audience.

We built intriguing modular page designs, balancing a bold typographic approach, animated illustrations. Creating a cohesive and seemless journey through a deep content structure.

Defining domains

With the newly established domains, we updated our existing system to solidify the brand identity and create a useable system across the larger business structure. Creating a structure with a more refined illustration style - and a clear system for working with their different domains. Creating a master graphic and colour system that could be used across platforms to clearly recognise each domain.

UX Refresh

A year after our intitial launch of techleap.nl, there had been some significant shifts in the business goals. Having scaled to a much larger team and working across a growing number of initiatives we needed to refresh the UX flow to encompass the push to act as a central body of information. It became clear that the main audience groups were changing and the user journey needed to accommodate this.
We reworked the flow to make the website have clearly defined areas, explaining who they are, what they do and to act as an in-depth resource centre.
We categorised their content into resources and blogs adding much more flexibility for their long form and multi-media content.
